its amazing when you lose your heartbeat to the bassline.

today was an amazing day. the y100 FEZtival was definitly all it was cracked up to be and i managed to see all the bands i was hoping to see.

AFI was amazing and put on a great set, the roots blew everyone out of the water, and alkaline trio was pretty good too.

the ataris' set was the most eventful by far. mary and i managed to push our way into the middle of the crowd to be with pat, mike and sarah. this guy in front of us passed out and he did this like semi convulsion thing. it was really scary, and the worst part was that it took forever to get him out of there because people are assholes and wouldnt let him out. once the music started, all 5 million people there started pushing toward the stage. im not exactly the most robust of characters, so it soon became hard to breathe. i lost pat in the wave of the crowd and mary and i decided we had to get out. so we crowd surfed out. that was an experience, but the view is definitly better on top of the crowd. when the set was over we went to the side of the stage and see pat's dad backstage. coolest dad ever. so he pulls this authority stunt and manages to get all of us back there to hang with the ataris. so here i am for the second time with these guys. they are so damn nice. i got autographs from kid and mike and then i got the lead guy from alkaline trio, matt, to sign his guitar pick that i managed to get.

whew

and bam margera's dad was backstage too. and every time i looked at him imagine him riding a lawn mower into a hole. his son, the one who isnt bam, is the drummer for cky who was playing last on the side stage.

on the main stage we went in to see beck and then audioslave, neither of which did much for me. i will give audioslave the fact that they are a good rock band, and chris cornell has a great voice, but they didnt do that thing where my stomach drops like the bands i love do.

and im glad the rain went away.
